for some unknown mysterious reason. 4/14 has always been my favorite day of the year. i think it has a lot to do with the weather in texas on that day. it's usually mild, sunny, the grass is green and the wildflowers are in full bloom. i try to always go for a mountain bike ride this day of the year. for obvious reasons that won't be happening this year. but i'm already looking forward to next year. i'm thinking next year will be the year for Ironman Coeur d'Alene.
big plans for someone who can barely walk right now. but hey that's how this whole "dominator" thing started. i was high on pain meds after my last knee surgery in 2005 when i saw THIS gatorade commercial. i thought "you know? i can do an ironman." from that day forward i started training, bought me a road bike and convinced stacy to teach me to swim. it has been a long journey and it's nowhere close to over but on my favorite day of the year i can't help but think about getting back out there and killin' it.
8 weeks today post-op and knee is still swollen and in pain. but the limping is getting better.
