i am hiring a cycling coach. WHAAA??? yes, i decided in order to get my fat ass back in shape i should hire a cycling coach.
heres the logic:
- my knee still has scar tissue BIG TIME and i need to be going to rehab
- my new company is awesome but the insurance SUCKS BIG TIME
- 20 rehab visits would be $1025 ($500 deductible + $35 a visit)
- rehab is ok but so inconvienent cuz you have to go during work hours
- maybe i should pay for personal training at a gym thats close to me?
- i hate the gym and what if the trainer is a tool
- i just wanna ride my bike
- don't wanna ride alone
- too slow for group rides
- too lazy to load bikes in my car
- but what if i hired a coach?
so you can see where this came from. bottom line is i started thinking about how i got in the best shape of my life. i did it by riding my mountain bike A LOT hitting all the local trails. then i got a roommate (JAKE) that wouldn't let me just come home and veg. when i got home he was like "lets go ride RIGHT NOW" so i did. so i'll blame Jake for my current situation (just kidding).
but the thought was since i basically have a grand to spend why not hire someone to do what Jake did (and i don't mean drink beer, not cleaning the toilets, and bangin' wing house chicks) you know what i mean. but no seriously, i want someone to come by my house, load up my bike and drive us to the park to go ride for up to an hour. that way all i have to do is show up and ride. with the added benefit that coaches track your workouts and chart your progress, it seems like a good choice. i talked to one coach but if that doesn't pan out i'll be looking for some recs.
i know it's one expensive way to get going but it's either this or i keep doing what i am and that's NOTHING. i want to dominate more than just a buffet line. i'll keep you posted.
-lazy ass dominator
